In spite of the grimness of the times in which we live, there is still hope. If you feel, like I do, that the usual discourse about matters of critical concern tends to be superficial, misguided, and false, then you might find some solace and inspiration here. I will try to offer insight and a holistic perspective on events and issues, and hopefully serve as a catalyst for raising the level of dialogue on this planet.

I was born in 1945, shortly before atom bombs were dropped on Japan. I served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971. I earned master's degrees in Economics and Educational Psychology, and certificates in Web Page Design and as a Teacher of English as a Second Language. I followed an Indian guru for eight years, which immersed me in meditative practices and an attitude of reaching a higher level of being. Thanks

I had some ideas festering to write about, but this picture is enough by itself to tell the story of the struggle against Wisconsin's governor and his nasty legislation. If you click on the picture a larger version appears. All the pictures are from Tuesday, June 14. The state Supreme Court had just decided, along partisan lines, to overturn the injunction against Governor Walker's union busting bill.

The girl in the photo was very proud of her sign, and wanted me to know she made it herself. If there were no other reason to keep fighting against this evil "Republican" scheme, the future of our children suffices.

From Hooverville to Walkerville

Here's a video of Russ Feingold speaking at Walkerville on Sunday, June 12, 2011.

This video of Madison musician Whitney Mann is from the 2010 Madison Music Awards. She performed for free at Walkerville on Saturday, June 11. She was pretty incredible, sounding like a mix of Janis Joplin and Nora Jones. A thirty minute video from Wisconsin Public Television can be seen here.

Here's a little history of Hooverville.

The pictures with the inflatable palm trees are a fun reminder of the fake video on Fox News in March, showing supposedly violent union protesters in Madison with palm trees in the background.
